Fushinryu HistoryThe Fushin Ryu International Headquarters are based in Yokohama, Japan under the leadership of Master Sugihara Kenpu. The New Zealand headquarters are based in Browns Bay, Auckland. The New Zealand Head Instructor is Hanshi Len Monk 8th dan who has been training for over 40 years. Fushin Ryu Karate NZ is affiliated to Karate NZ (the governing body for karate in NZ). The New Zealand branch was formed in 1977. We teach traditional karate under the karate master Sugihara Kenpu. Class sizes are limited and separated by grade and age as we feel this gives the student the best learning environment. As well as traditional karate classes we also have specialised classes for sport karate.
